Whirlwind to the South

It's that time of year again!  Hunter and I drove all the SG stock down to STITCHES South in Atlanta, GA on a big truck!!  It was a BUMPY ride, but I still got some crafting done...

Since we "dress up" to work the SG booth, I wanted cool, steampunky Rav buttons.  So I made them!  They're based on campaign buttons a la the turn of the century, which goes perfectly with the Rav seal!!

They came out really great, I'm very pleased with them.

It was a 12 hour trip to Atlanta, but I knew we were getting close when I saw this again...

That water tower has become such a landmark for me.  Must be heading south...

We arrived, and unloaded, set up, and were ready to go with plenty of fine before the preview!  It was so lovely to see old friends and make new ones.

And by the way, breakfast in your room is AWESOME in this hotel...

I got to meet one of my favorite knitting designers, Ysolda Teague.

It was so wonderful meeting her.  And she got some yarn :)

The Rav button went well with my outfits...

... and we generally had a great time.

Before we knew it, it was all over.  We packed up, and went to dinner.  We had a good crew of friends around us.

Since Hunter and I drove the truck, we were on a different schedule than everyone else.  We got to spend one more night in the hotel, and relaxed in the lounge with our new toys.

And on our way back I stared a new shawl with some lovely new yarn from Dragonfly Fibers.

All in all it was a lovely trip.  I can't wait to go back.

Moar BUNNIES!!

I went to the Montgomery County Agricultural Fair again this year, and saw even more cute bunnies!!

This is Dreamer

Here is a beautiful Netherland Dwarf girl.  This is one of my favorite breed of bun

Here's another Netherland Dwarf... itchy bum!!!

We also saw a new born calf, and I mean fresh squeezed!

Pretty bovine!

And last but not least, we watched an equine drill team!  Very fun :)

In Which We Travel South

A grand adventure was had as we traveled south to Atlanta, Georgia for STITCHES South.  The Sanguine Gryphon was a vendor there, and I went to along and worked in our booth.  We had quite a trip!  The route south was peppered with funny and intriguing sights.

Goblin came along, and kept us company.  We were greeted near the border of Georgia by this iconic site:

On the way down, we came across this sign:

... we had no idea either.  No matter which way we read it, there seemed to be a word missing...

We also brought ALL OF THE THINGS! (most of which was my fault... I may not pack light, but I am prepared for every fashion eventuality.)

We all had a fantastic, if not busy, time.  We all wore our finest, and had a wonderfully beautiful booth!  I got to model the shawl that Pamela knit out of the new Gaia Lace sample dyed in Ferrous Sulfate, lovingly nicknamed the Fluffy Cloud Shawl.

The Travelling Skein came with us, and basked in all his stardom.

It was also a big trip for me for another reason.

It was the debut of CircusGirl Creations stitch markers!  I had this fancy little tight wire rig set up in our booth with handmade stitch markers by yours truly.  You can check out my etsy shop here.

I also picked up all the little essentials and a loom for a new craft (I know, I need another craft like I need a hole in the head.)  Hopefully I will have pictures of my tablet weaving to post soon!

We had a wonderful trip, and made some lovely friends.  I can't wait to come back to Georgia next year!
